Clinical Psychology Services
Dr. Gwen Jenkins, C.Psych.
Dr. Jenkins is licensed to work with children, adolescents, and adults. However, because of the potential for a conflict of interest with her work in the Child and Youth Program at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, her private practice provides services to adults only.

Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB)
I have worked extensively with first responders, including firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement suffering workplace injuries, Post-traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), moral injury, and/or acute stress reactions. If you’re feeling the toll of your profession on your mental health and overall wellbeing, together, we’ll explore your concerns and take meaningful steps toward healing and recovery.

Clinical Assessment and Treatment Planning
Before beginning treatment, it’s crucial to take the time to understand your individual life circumstances, experiences, and goals. Every person’s journey is unique, and a successful treatment plan is one that reflects your values, priorities, and personal story.
By combining this understanding with evidence-based clinical practice, we can develop a clear path forward. This approach ensures that the strategies we create together are not only effective, but also meaningful within the context of your life, guiding you toward healing and growth with purpose, clarity, and confidence.

Psychotherapy
I draw on multiple treatment modalities, including:

-
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
-
Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT)
-
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
-
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
-
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
-
Positive Psychology
-
Mindfulness

The most suitable approach for your needs will depend on the reasons that bring you to therapy. Recognizing that you are the expert in your own experiences, every treatment modality is grounded in collaboration.
Together, we’ll explore and practice strategies during our sessions that you can then apply to your daily life. This process, often referred to as "homework," is a vital way to integrate therapy into your personal life and experience its impact firsthand.

Since returning to Canada, Lisa has continued her work in the mental health field, providing support through a child and family services agency and the public school board.
